Lair East is a New York-based co-working community that helps startups grow by leveraging resources from our collective network between China and the US. Located in SoHo, Lair East offers a convenient, cozy and tech-savvy office space for entrepreneurs and startups to achieve their goals and make real impacts on the world around them.
The top 3 teams from NYC will be ranked together with other countries' top 3. The competition organizer in Guangzhou will announce the teams selected into Global Final Pitch in May. Selected teams will be flown out (all expense paid) to the finals to compete for the following:
1st place (1 winner): 100,000 CNY cash award + 2 years free office space in incubator (China)
2nd place (2 winners): 50,000 CNY cash award + 1 year free office space in incubator (China)
3rd place (3 winners): 20,000 CNY cash award + 6 months office space in incubator (China)
Outstanding Award (5 winners): 10,000 CNY cash award + incubating
All winners will receive local government financial aids and more!

Opening remarks
Sree Sreenivasan has been Chief Digital Officer of NYC since Oct 2016. In announcing his role, Mayor Bill deBlasio (@NYCMayor) tweeted, “Welcome, @sree, as NYC’s new CDO! And onward to becoming the most tech-friendly, transparent, digitally equitable city in the world.” Sree runs the Mayor’s Office of Digital Strategy and works with City agencies and colleagues throughout the five boroughs to fulfill the goals laid out in that tweet. He also works with startups and tech companies to help them thrive in the world’s greatest city.
Before coming to City Hall, Sree spent three years as Chief Digital Officer of The Met and also worked for 21 years at Columbia University, teaching digital media at Columbia Journalism School and a year as the university’s first CDO. In 2015, he was named to Fast Company’s list of the 100 most creative people in business and in 2009 to Ad Age’s list of 25 people to follow on Twitter.
